Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection: Riteish Deshmukh’s Film Crosses ₹100 Crore Milestone

The much-awaited historical drama Raja Shivaji has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Marathi cinema history. Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh, the film (movie) has shattered multiple box office records since its theatrical release on May 1, 2026. 

Historic Opening at the Box Office

Released on Maharashtra Day, Raja Shivaji opened to a phenomenal response across Maharashtra and several Hindi-speaking regions. According to trade reports, the film earned over ₹11 crore on its opening day, making it the biggest opening ever for a Marathi film. 

The movie continued its dream run through the first weekend and crossed ₹37 crore within the first three days. Industry analysts described the film’s opening as a turning point for Marathi cinema. 

Day-Wise Performance and Rapid Growth

The film maintained strong occupancy even during weekdays. Reports suggest that the Marathi version consistently outperformed the Hindi version, especially in Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, and Nagpur circuits. 

By Day 10, Raja Shivaji had reportedly crossed ₹81 crore in India gross collections and continued to dominate the ticket counters despite competition from newer releases. 

Trade tracker Sacnilk reported that the film collected approximately ₹74 crore net within its first 10 days, recovering most of its reported production budget. 

Crosses the ₹100 Crore Milestone

In a historic achievement, Raja Shivaji became the first Marathi film to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the India net box office. The milestone has been widely celebrated by film critics, audiences, and the Marathi film industry. According to the latest box office estimates, the movie has earned more than ₹113 crore worldwide gross collections, including strong domestic earnings and overseas contributions.
