Thailand earthquake 2025 : A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on Friday, sending strong tremors to India, China, and Thailand. In Bangkok, the impact was so intense that water from rooftop infinity pools in luxury hotels came crashing down, turning them into giant waterfalls.
As high-rise buildings swayed, videos surfaced showing water spilling from rooftop pools, flooding balconies and streets below. Some of the most affected hotels included the Banyan Tree, where water from its 61st-floor infinity pool poured down like a waterfall, the Waldorf Astoriaâs 16th-floor pool, and the Marriott Marquisâ 9th-floor pool, which emptied completely within minutes.
